Payroll is an essential aspect of any business, whether it be a startup, small business or large enterprise. Many small owner managed companies with “no employees” are often under the assumption that their company does not require payroll services as there are no employees. Here’s the thing, in most instances, the director of these owner managed companies should pay employees tax and UIF each month on the monies that they draw out of the company for personal consumption, as by not doing so, can lead to other serious consequences, including deemed dividends tax, business solvency concerns and estate planning, to name a few.
