Profile:
Unati is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), having completed her B.Com in Accounting at the University of Johannesburg and her Honours/CTA at UNISA before qualifying in 2016. She began her career in 2011, completing her articles at a small-to-medium audit firm in Sunninghill, where she also worked as an audit senior for 18 months. During this time, she gained experience auditing entities across various industries.
After her articles, Unati joined a state-owned energy company as a senior accountant. Over her eight years with the company, she developed a strong interest in and expertise in tax and technical accounting. She also served as a Financial Manager at an export credit agency, where she was responsible for the full accounting and financial functions, including cash flow forecasting, budgeting, income tax, and VAT.
Throughout her career, Unati has specialized in applying her technical knowledge to practical, day-to-day business activities, ensuring financial reporting compliance across multiple functions.
