Profile:
Theresa holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science from the University of South Africa (UNISA), which she completed while serving her articles at Ernst & Young. During this time, she gained extensive audit experience across a diverse client base, ranging from small entities to large listed corporates.
Following her articles, she transitioned into the firm’s small business division, where she provided accounting and company secretarial services to small and medium-sized enterprises. In this role, she also supported clients with system implementation and training initiatives.
Theresa subsequently moved into the corporate sector, beginning as a Portfolio Accountant within a listed property group, and later advancing to a Group Accountant role at a listed transport and logistics company. She then returned to the listed property sector, where she progressed from Financial Manager to Head of Finance (South Africa). In this capacity, she held responsibility for group tax, consolidations, and reporting, and contributed as a member of both the Investment and Audit Committees, in addition to overseeing Main Board minutes.
In 2020, Theresa resumed her studies, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting through Milpark Education, followed by qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 2021. She has also pursued further development in coaching and is a certified Brainwise Coaching Practitioner.
Her experience spans the full spectrum of accounting and tax, including financial and management reporting, corporate governance, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and the development of business plans to support investment decisions. She has also been actively involved in training and coaching throughout her career.
