Monique commenced her accounting career in Johannesburg during January 1986.  She subsequently relocated to Cape Town and joined a large audit and accounting firm. She was employed by this firm for 13 years, 10 years as manager of the Client Accounting Division. As senior manager, Monique was responsible for all technical training and tax lectures for her department and when necessary, for first year articled clerks and audit department staff. 

Over the years Monique saw the need for small and medium sized business' requiring professional services at cost effective rates. In turn, she also recognised that the registered accounting and audit firms could no longer attract, retain and advance highly experienced bookkeeping and accounting staff without the costs becoming unaffordable for small and medium sized business clients.

Monique incorporated the concept of Business Accounting Network in March 2000, commencing as an outsourced accountant working from her home office. She has taken a keen interest in implementing new or updating old accounting systems and controls, vital for accurate monthly financial reporting and financial management.
